New Members Admitted to the Academy in 2024

At the Extraordinary Board meeting on 22 March 2024, five individuals were inducted as new members, expanding the Academy’s membership to 181 individual members, alongside five institutional members who contribute valuable knowledge and expertise.

These new members were warmly welcomed by the Academy's President during the annual meeting, which was held via Microsoft Teams on 18 April 2024. The President expressed enthusiasm for the expertise our members bring to the Academy, continually enhancing our interdisciplinary and international collaboration.

The 2024 cohort of new members includes:

2	Haakon Hop, Section Leader at the Norwegian Polar Insitute (NPI), Tromsø, Norway
2	Jan Sigurd Fuglestvedt, Resarch Director / Special Advisor at the Center for International Climate Reserach (CICERO), Oslo, Norway
2	Sten-Andreas Grundvåg, Associate Professor at UiT The Arctic Univeristy of Norway, Tromsø, Norway
