NVP is the world’s only scientific academy that concentrates on the polar regions and related challenges within all scientific disciplines and in an international perspective. The academy is located in Longyearbyen, Svalbard, on 78° north and welcomes distinguished researchers from all over the world as members.

NVP disclaimer
Most of the NVP’s members will publish under the name of the institutions where they are employed. To use the Academy as institutional reference may nevertheless sometimes be preferred. If so, the NVP disclaimer must also be published: «The viewpoints expressed in this article are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the stand of the Norwegian Scientific Academy for Polar Research.» And in Norwegian: “De synspunkter som kommer til uttrykk i denne artikkelen er forfatterens egne og deles ikke nødvendigvis av Norges Vitenskapsakademi for Polarforskning.»
